Old Mutual Mobile Banking App

The Mobile Banking App helps Money Account holders manage their accounts on the move.

The app is available on the following devices*:

  • Android 2.3 or higher
  • iPhone iOS 6 or higher
  • BlackBerry OS 5, 6 & 7
  • J2ME Advanced feature phones (capable of Java, MIDP 2.0 CDLC 1.0.1 or higher)

*The app is not supported on Windows mobile phones, BlackBerry OS 10, Android 2.2, Tablets/iPads, basic feature phones.

Downloading the Old Mutual App

You can download the app from the following app stores:

Simply search for: "Old Mutual" in any of these app stores.

If you're not sure where to download the app, or how to do it this way, enter www.oldmutualapp.com into your phone's web browser, and it will take you to the right page.

As a first time user, you need to:

  • 1. Search for the app via your mobile app store.
  • 2. Search for Old Mutual and then select the download icon.

After downloading the app, you'll need to complete a few simple registration steps before you can sign in and use it.

Access your mobile banking in a few simple steps.

  • 1. Find the "Money Account", which will be available from the landing page of the Old Mutual Money Account App.
  • 2. Select "Money Account" on the menu, and:
    • 1. Enter your mobile number
    • 2. Select 'Register'
    • 3. Choose and type in the PIN to be used on the Mobile App (only once).
    • 4. Enter the 'Device Name' e.g. 'Rachelle's iPhone'
    • 5. Select 'Register' to continue

You will be prompted to activate your device via Internet banking.
Once you're logged into your Internet Banking profile, choose 'Device Management'.
You are now ready to login to Mobile Banking, via the Old Mutual App and start banking on the go!

Once you've logged into the Mobile Banking App, the page you land on will show you your account balances, and offer you quick access to different things you can do with your account.

The main landing page:

Click "SWIPE ACCOUNT" and find a range of options available to you:

  • View your available balance (in your SWIPE account)
  • Make a transaction: Use Quick Pay, make inter-account transfers, make a once-off payment, pay a beneficiary, view your payment or transaction history or change your PIN.
  • Manage your beneficiaries: Pay beneficiaries, edit, add or delete them, view their details and view your payment history to them.
  • Use a range of prepaid services: Buy airtime (pre-selected or your own amount from MTN, Vodacom, Cell C and Telkom Mobile) and view your prepaid purchase history.
  • Change your card status: Switch your card on or off for safety.

You can also access the details in your SAVE ACCOUNT by clicking "SAVE ACCOUNT".

Here you can:

  • View Your available balance: View how much money is currently in your SAVE account.
  • Manage your savings:
    • Set your SWIPE & SAVE status - the percentage you'd like to save each time you swipe your card.
    • Set your FOCUSED SAVE - a fixed amount you'll save every month.
  • Manage your transactions: Make inter-account transfers and view your transaction history.

GET EASY ACCESS TO YOUR TRANSACTIONS

  • QUICKPAY: Pay another Money Account holder - using their cellphone number.
  • MY ACCOUNTS: View account balances (current, uncleared, reserved and available balances for SWIPE and SAVE accounts).
  • MY TRANSACTIONS: Quick Pay, Inter-Account Transfer, Once-off Payment, Pay a Beneficiary, Payment History, Transaction History, Statements and Change PIN.
  • MY BENEFICIARIES: Manage and pay your beneficiaries.
  • MY PREPAID SERVICES: Buy airtime.
  • MY SAVINGS: Set your targeted Savings amount, as well as the % you would like to save when you SWIPE your card!
  • ACCOUNT SETTINGS: Change your mobile app PIN, change your card PIN, Reset your Internet Banking password or reset your Cellphone Banking PIN.

Mobile Banking Fly-Out Menu

The Fly-Out Menu can be found in in the top right-hand corner of the Old Mutual app, no matter which applet you're using.

  • HOME: Main landing page.
  • MY ACCOUNTS: View account balances (current, uncleared, reserved and available balances for SWIPE and SAVE accounts).
  • MY TRANSACTIONS: Quick Pay, Inter-Account Transfers, Once-off Payments, Pay Beneficiary/ies, Payment History, Transaction History, Statements and Change PIN.
  • MY BENEFICIARIES: Manage and pay your beneficiaries.
  • MY PREPAID SERVICES: Buy airtime.
  • MY SAVINGS: Set your targeted Savings amount, as well as the percentage you'd like to save when you swipe your card!
  • ACCOUNT SETTINGS: change your mobile app PIN, change your card PIN, reset your Internet Banking password and reset your Cellphone Banking PIN.
  • CONTACT US: Contact details, as well as an option to send a message to the Service Centre.
  • LOG OUT: Log Out of the Money Account app.

ACCOUNT BALANCES

There are a few ways to view your account balances:

  • Via the main landing page: Once you have logged into the Mobile Banking app, the first screen will provide you with a view of your account balances.
  • On the SWIPE and SAVE pages: Once you have selected either "SWIPE" or "SAVE" accounts, both the current and available balances are highlighted in the top menu bar.
  • On the MY ACCOUNTS page: Select "My Accounts" to view account balances (current, uncleared, reserved and available balances for SWIPE and SAVE accounts). Note that MY ACCOUNTS is also available via the Fly-Out Menu (top right).
  • TRANSACTIONS,
  • BENEFICIARIES; and
  • PREPAID SERVICES.

Transactions Sub-Menu

  • Quick Pay: Pay another Money Account holder by using their phone number.
  • Inter-Account Transfer: Easily transfer funds between your SWIPE and SAVE accounts.
  • Once-Off Payment: Make a once-off payment to a beneficiary who isn't a Money Account holder.
  • Pay Beneficiary: Pay an existing beneficiary or add, and pay, a new beneficiary.
    Note: this option takes you to the Beneficiaries sub-menu where you can also manage your beneficiaries.
  • Buy Airtime: Buy airtime from popular local networks - choose from a list of preselected amounts or enter your own amount.
  • Payment History: View the last seven payments you made to beneficiaries.
    Note that a detailed payments history is available under each beneficiary's name.
  • Transaction History: View your recent transactions or enter a date range for a more detailed view of them.
  • Recurring Payments: Add a recurring payment.
  • Cash Deposits: When making cash deposits into your Money Account, you'll need to generate a WiCode. To do this select "get reference number". This will give you your code.

Beneficiaries Sub-Menu

From this menu, you can view your list of beneficiaries (highlighting the last amount paid and the date it was paid), manage existing beneficiaries (edit, delete), add new beneficiaries and pay them.

  • Add a Beneficiary Add a pre-approved beneficiary e.g. Telkom, City of Cape Town, Edgars etc. If your beneficiary isn't listed in the pre-approved list, simply add them to your list by capturing their banking details and other important reference information.
  • Pay Beneficiary Pay an existing beneficiary; you can also add and pay a new beneficiary.
  • Payment History Select any beneficiary and you'll be able to view your detailed payment history with them; you can also select your own date range to view more transactions.
  • Beneficiary Details Once you've chosen a beneficiary, you can view their details (captured previously).
  • Edit Beneficiary Update beneficiary details, such as banking details, references and proof of payment.
  • Delete a Beneficiary Delete beneficiaries that you no longer need to pay.

Manage your Beneficiaries

Manage and pay beneficiaries by selecting the following:

  • SWIPE account:

    On the main landing page, select "Available Balance" and then open the "Beneficiaries" tab.
    From this menu you can view your list of beneficiaries (highlighting the last amount paid and the date it was paid), manage existing beneficiaries (edit, delete), add new beneficiaries and pay them. You can also select it from the Main Landing page or from the Fly-Out Menu (top right).

  • SAVINGS; and
  • TRANSACTIONS.

Savings Sub-Menu

  • SWIPE & SAVE Settings: Set the percentage you'd like to save each time you swipe your card.
    You can also activate or deactivate this setting if you'd like.
  • FOCUSED SAVE Settings: Set a fixed amount to save every month, on a set date that you choose.
    You can also activate or deactivate this setting.

Transactions Sub-Menu

Transfer funds to your SWIPE account (Inter-Account Transfer) and view your Transaction History.

You can buy airtime, or view your prepaid purchase history, by selecting "MY PREPAID SERVICES" from the main landing page or the Fly-Out Menu, or "SWIPE Account" from the main landing page and selecting the "PREPAID" tab.

Buy Airtime

You can buy airtime from one of the local mobile network operators by choosing from the preselected amounts or entering your own amount.

Prepaid Purchase History

You can view a history of your prepaid transactions or select your own date range to view more of your transactions.

If you need to change your Mobile Banking PIN:

  • 1. Select "ACCOUNT SETTINGS" from the landing page.
  • 2. Select "CHANGE MOBILE APP PIN" from the menu.

  • 3. Enter your current PIN and select a new one. Then confirm your new PIN.

If you have forgotten your Mobile Banking Pin, contact our Money Account Service Center on 0860 222 252 to have it reset.
